Between June and September 2024, Myanmar faced a severe flood crisis triggered by prolonged monsoon rains and the devastating impact of Typhoon Yagi. The disaster affected nearly one million people and claimed over 433 lives, with Bago Region emerging as one of the hardest-hit areas. Severe flooding across Bago forced thousands to flee their homes, causing immense damage to local infrastructure, including over 65,000 houses and 1,500 schools nationwide, with total economic losses estimated at US$1.94 billion.

Despite significant challenges caused by damaged roads and ongoing regional instability, Myanmar Polestar DMC and MICE Management Company remained committed to supporting our community. Recognizing the urgent need in the Bago Region, our team personally traveled to the affected areas to deliver essential donations and provide direct relief to those struggling in the aftermath of this historic disaster.
